PRODUCT-SPECIFIC HUMAN RESEARCH SUMMARIZED BY FDA

In its official 2026 briefing on Epitalon, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration summarized a published randomized, placebo-controlled human study and specifically identified “Epitalon Solution-Spray Nanopep” as the product administered in the active study group.

Changes in gene expression reported

After 20 days, urinary 6-SMT — a major metabolite of melatonin — increased 1.7-fold in the Nanopep AEDG group, while no change was observed in the placebo group. The researchers also reported changes in the expression of genes involved in circadian rhythm regulation.

    FAQ

EPITALON® contains the tetrapeptide AEDG, commonly known as Epitalon. Human research on sublingual AEDG has reported changes in urinary 6-SMT, a major melatonin metabolite, as well as changes in genes involved in circadian rhythm regulation. Nanopep EPITALON® Solution-Spray was the product used in the active group of the published human study summarized by FDA scientists in 2026.

Epitalon/AEDG has been investigated in human, animal and cellular research relating to circadian biology, melatonin metabolism, gene expression and telomere biology. The strength and relevance of the evidence differ by study type, and laboratory findings should not beinterpreted as proof of clinical anti-aging effects in humans.

EPITALON® Spray does not contain melatonin. It contains the synthetic tetrapeptide AEDG, which has been studied in relation to melatonin metabolism and circadian biology. The sublingual spray provides a convenient, needle-free format that is applied directly under the tongue.

Shake well before use. Apply a total of 5 pumps per day under the tongue and hold for 30 seconds before swallowing, or use as directed by your healthcare professional. Five pumps equal one 1 mL daily serving containing 0.5 mg of peptide complex. One 30 mL bottle provides approximately 30 daily servings.

In its 2026 scientific briefing on Epitalon, FDA summarized a published randomized, placebo-controlled human study investigating sublingual AEDG and specifically identified “Epitalon Solution-Spray Nanopep” as the product used in the active group. The study reported a 1.7-fold increase in the melatonin metabolite 6-SMT and changes in circadian clock-gene expression after 20 days. This is notable because the branded Nanopep EPITALON® Solution-Spray — not only generic AEDG — was specifically identified as the product used in the published human study summarized in the FDA briefing document.
